The real subject

The Fieseler Fi-156 Storch was a German liaison, observation and courier aircraft of the Second World War with a high-wing layout. It was famous for its exceptionally short takeoff and landing and for its ability to fly very slowly; it was used for liaison, for reconnaissance, for evacuating the wounded and for carrying officers.

Use and tips

Apply the decals over a smooth gloss clear coat, which prevents the silvering effect under the film. Cut the motif out, dip it briefly in lukewarm water and once it has softened slide it onto the surface of the model. Once dry, go over it with a matte or satin varnish; a decal softener helps it settle onto the detail.
