Reskit - open exhaust nozzles for the Grumman F-14A Tomcat, 1:48 is a resin detail set of nozzles in the open position for models of the American carrier fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set of exhaust nozzles for models of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory replacing the rear of the engine nacelles with more faithful castings with clearly drawn detail of the nozzles in the open (parked) position.
The Grumman F-14A Tomcat was an American carrier interceptor with a variable-sweep wing, powered by Pratt & Whitney TF30 engines. The exhaust nozzles are a visually exposed part of the airframe and cast resin makes finer drawing of the petals and the inner surfaces possible here than plastic from the box can manage. The result is a more realistic rear end of a model.
First wash the parts in warm soapy water to remove the residue of the casting release agent, then separate them from the gate blocks with a sharp knife or a fine saw. They are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate); do any sanding and finishing with respiratory protection. We recommend a dry test of the mating surfaces and any fine-tuning before the final gluing. It pays to paint the inner surfaces of the nozzles before the final assembly.
This is an add-on detail set, not the model itself. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
