An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-borne aircraft North American FJ-4B Fury in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The kit has a detailed cockpit, separately built landing gear bays and a clear cockpit canopy part that can be displayed open. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the box and the markings, go by the enclosed instructions.
The FJ-4B was the attack version of the naval Fury fighter, derived from the F-86 Sabre but with the wing, fuselage and landing gear adapted for operating from aircraft carrier decks. Compared with the basic FJ-4 it received a strengthened structure and six underwing pylons for bombs, rockets and drop tanks. It served with squadrons of the US Navy and the Marine Corps at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s as a light attack and escort aircraft.
Finish and paint the cockpit and the landing gear bays before you close the fuselage. The cockpit canopy can be masked with a mask or narrow tape and the framing sprayed separately. Fit the stores under the pylons carefully, only at the end. Spray the base over primer; shades of polished metal suit the metal surfaces. Set the decals on a gloss varnish so that they do not silver.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
