A set of photo-etched parts for a model of the FMA IA-58A Pucara ground attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. An accessory for a finished kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The IA-58 Pucara is an Argentine light ground attack and reconnaissance aircraft produced by the FMA works. It is powered by two turboprop engines, the crew consists of two men seated one behind the other and the landing gear has a nose wheel, so the machine stands level and low on the ground. The combination of propellers, an angular fuselage and a prominent tail gives the model a look that will not disappear among jet fighters in a display case.
Photo-etched parts for an IA-58A model in 1:48 scale. Etched metal is made by etching the shape out of thin sheet, and so the material really does look thin on the model in places where a plastic part necessarily comes out thicker. Which elements the set contains, where they belong and what has to be modified on the kit before they are fitted is shown in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, as nippers will bend the edge. Make the bends along the scored lines, best of all in a bending tool or between two straight edges, and in one attempt. They are glued with a really small amount of cyanoacrylate glue, which can be applied with a pin. Degrease the metal parts before painting and spray a base coat, as without it the paint holds poorly on smooth metal.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
