1:48 Focke Wulf Fw 189 double-sided painting mask for Great Wall Hobby

Focke Wulf Fw 189 masking set 1:48 (Art Scale)

A set of precisely pre-cut masking templates from Art Scale for the plastic model of the German Focke Wulf Fw 189 reconnaissance aircraft in 1:48 scale. The templates are die-cut from quality kabuki tape, the parts are numbered and come with instructions. It is the double-sided variant, for the outer and the inner side of the glazing, which on this type is particularly extensive.

The real subject

The Fw 189 Uhu was a German twin-boom reconnaissance and observation aircraft of the Second World War with a strikingly glazed central nacelle. It was noted for good handling at low speeds and was committed above all on the Eastern Front for reconnaissance and liaison duties.

Use

• Pop the parts out of the sheet and transfer them onto degreased glazing, or onto the wheels and other masked areas.
• The double-sided version makes it easier to paint the extensively glazed nacelle from outside and with the interior color from inside.
• Cover with an airbrush or a brush; the tape holds a sharp paint edge without flow-over.
• Once the paint is dry, peel the templates off carefully; kabuki tape comes away cleanly.

Who the set is for

For modelers for whom the extensive glazing of the Fw 189 would mean demanding hand masking. The templates are designed for the shape and the engraving of the Great Wall Hobby kit.

It is a masking accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
