This is an accessory, not a model of the aircraft. The casting in bronze replaces the plastic landing gear legs: metal is incomparably stiffer, does not bend under the weight of a finished model and does not deform even after years in a display case. That is fundamental on models fitted out with resin accessories, which tend to be markedly heavier than a bare plastic base. A bronze casting also holds sharp edges and fine detail that often get lost in plastic.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-7 is one of the later versions of the A series, powered by the BMW 801 radial engine. Compared with the older sub-versions it was given heavier 13 mm machine guns in the cowling instead of the original 7.92 mm weapons, which showed in the shape of the covers over the engine as well. The main landing gear of the Fw 190 had an unusually wide track for its time and retracted inwards into the wing, which made it one of the best machines to handle on the ground in its class.
First rid the casting of grease, otherwise paint will not hold on the metal. Use a base coat intended for metal and only then the color coat. The joint with the model is made with super glue, ideally with an activator, because classic solvent for plastic has no effect on metal. If you plan to stand the model on wheels with sagged tires or in a diorama, a metal leg is the certainty that the assembly will not settle.
