A French kepi in 1:48 scale is a small accessory for figures – a separate piece of headgear typical of the French army.

This is an accessory for figures, not a kit. It offers a separate French kepi in 1:48 scale, which is fitted onto a figure's head or used as a set-aside item of dress in a scene – on a table at a headquarters, on a bench, on the rear of a vehicle. With figures it holds true that the headgear determines the impression of the whole figure more than anything else.
The kepi is a low cap with a flat round crown and a short peak, inseparably connected with the French army. It was worn in the field and as part of walking-out uniform, and in various forms it lasted from the nineteenth century through both world wars to the postwar period, when it remained mainly ceremonial headgear. Check the particular pattern and unit on the packaging.
Cut the casting off the casting block with a fine-toothed saw and level the cut surface. Before painting, wash the part in lukewarm water with a detergent because of the release agent from the mold. It is glued with super glue; when replacing headgear, first level the crown of the figure's head. A kepi usually has several areas separated by color – the crown, the band and the peak – so it pays off first to spray the whole part in the lighter shade and to finish the darker areas with a brush. A dry brush will draw out the sharp edges of the crown, and a thin line of wash will suggest the seams.
This is an accessory for figures, not a kit on its own. Paints, glue and the figure are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
