The second numbered figure on the subject of French tank crews of 1940, which Dynamo-Models works in 1:48 scale. It is offered in a pair with the first number, and a combined package marked as a Set has also come out in the same range. It is a diorama accessory to vehicles, not a vehicle kit.
The French armored units of 1940 were split between infantry support and the newly built armored divisions, so the crews appeared with very different types of machine. Visually they were linked by the tankman's helmet and by an outer garment protecting against oil and abrasion in the cramped fighting compartment. For a diorama this is a rewarding subject: two figures from different items can be placed in interaction at a vehicle and the scene gains a story at once instead of being a mere display of a model.
If you paint the figure, wash it first in lukewarm water with detergent and let it dry thoroughly. Apply the undercoat thinly so that the layout of the equipment stays legible. With a pair of figures it pays off to tune the shades of the clothing slightly differently; entirely identical colors make it look as though these were two impressions of the same figure. Try the mutual angle of the figures dry before you settle them at the vehicle model.
