How to work with the masks

The surface under a mask has to be smooth and thoroughly dry, otherwise the paint will seep underneath. Lift the mask off its carrier film with tweezers or the point of a scalpel, place it in position and press the edges down carefully, ideally with a soft stick. Spray the paint in several very thin coats and at right angles to the edge of the mask. Take the mask off while the paint is freshly dry but not yet fully cured — the edge then stays at its crispest. Any remains of adhesive are removed by a fine cloth slightly dampened with water.
