An Eduard decal sheet with technical stencil markings for a model of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A was a German single-seat fighter of the Second World War. It differed from the slim machines with liquid-cooled engines in having a short, stocky fuselage with an air-cooled BMW 801 radial engine and a wide-track main landing gear, which made take-off and landing from field strips easier. The A series was the most numerous and went through many armament variants.
Stencil markings are the small technical inscriptions, warning plates and signs that the real machine carried all over its surface: by the filler ports, by the ammunition bays, on the engine covers and on the landing gear legs. Nobody reads them on a model, but they break up the uniform expanse of the paintwork and give the surface credibility in scale. The extent of the sheet and the placement of the individual markings are given in the enclosed diagram.
The surface under a decal should be smooth and glossy; on a matte coat a white veil forms under the film. Cut the decal out close to the edge, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest a moment until it releases from the backing paper. Then slide it onto the model, position it with a soft brush and draw the surplus water off with a piece of paper towel. A decal softener helps over riveting and panel lines, and once dry the model is clear-coated.
A decal sheet is supplied. The kit, paints, glue and softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
