An injection-molded plastic kit of the German fighter aircraft Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. Eduard is renowned among modelers for fine surface detail with delicately engraved panel lines and riveting. The package usually holds clear parts for the canopy and marking options; depending on the edition, photo-etched parts and self-adhesive masks for the glazing may be enclosed as well. Check the exact contents of the package and the edition against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Fw 190 Würger was among the best German fighters of the Second World War. The A-8 version of 1944 was the most numerously produced variant; it was powered by the air-cooled radial engine BMW 801 and carried heavy cannon and machine gun armament. It was used on all fronts as a fighter and as a fighter-bomber and proved itself through its ruggedness, its firepower and its good performance at low and medium altitudes.
Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement, which wicks into the joints. Pay attention to the seating of the radial engine and the cowling and to a clean fit of the canopy. The glazing is best masked with the enclosed masks or with tape and sprayed with an airbrush over a primer. Fit the stores under the fuselage and the wings (a drop tank, or cannon gondolas) according to the chosen markings only at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
