The Quickboost (Aires) set in 1:48 scale contains precisely cast barrels for the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 fighter. It is a detail accessory, not an aircraft model: the resin barrels replace the plastic parts from a box kit and as a rule have drilled muzzles, so they look more faithful than the injection-molded originals.
The Fw 190A-8 was one of the most widespread production versions of this family. It carried a combination of synchronized and wing armament whose barrels protruded from the wing leading edge and from the fuselage cowling. It is precisely these slender features that are hard to render in plastic on a model, and a resin replacement refines them noticeably.
Wash the parts to remove mold release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. Paint the barrels in a dark metallic shade and bring them out lightly so that their fineness shows.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin detail set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
