A replacement pilot seat for models of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in the A, F and D versions in 1:48 scale. A small part that is the first thing seen through an open cabin.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 is among the best-known German fighters of the Second World War. The A version was the fighter, the F version grew out of it as the ground-attack form for support of ground units; both were powered by the air-cooled BMW 801 radial engine, which gave the aircraft its characteristically stubby nose. The later D version was given the liquid-cooled inverted V12 Jumo 213 and with it a markedly longer nose, from which it was nicknamed Dora. The cabin stayed similar across the versions, which is why the seat suits all three.
It is a separate replacement part for the seat, that is a targeted replacement of one of the most visible items in the cabin. The seat from a kit tends to be softly shaped and in 1:48 scale that shows, especially when the cabin canopy is slid back.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down, so that the seating surface stays flat. Wash and degrease the part before painting. Fit and paint the seat before you close the fuselage, or you will not reach it. First the base shade of the cabin, then a dark wash into the corners and light rubbing of the edges with a dry brush where a pilot would have worn the seat. Belts, if you are going to add them, are threaded and glued at the very end, so that they can be bent freely over the edge of the seat.
For builders of the Fw 190 in 1:48 scale who want a more accurate cabin, and for anyone who displays a model with the canopy open. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
