About product

Eduard Brassin GBU-12 bomb (1:48)

This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard brings resin GBU-12 Paveway II laser-guided aircraft bombs in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit, but a weapons detail set for arming a model of a modern combat aircraft. The package usually contains several complete bombs, complemented by photo-etched parts for the guidance and stabilizing surfaces and by decals for the markings.

The real subject

The GBU-12 Paveway II is an American laser-guided bomb built on the classic 500-pound bomb, fitted with a guidance head and control surfaces. It is used by a whole range of tactical aircraft of the US forces and of NATO air forces, which makes it a universal element of a modern stores load.

Usage tips

Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bend the photo-etched guidance surfaces exactly as the instructions show. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and add the markings from the decals.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of modern combat aircraft
  • Modelers who want faithful underwing stores
  • More experienced builders used to resin and photo-etch
  • Collectors who care about period-correct armament

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin detail set. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
