About product

GBU-12 Paveway II laser-guided bomb 1:48 (RESArm)

The set contains 3D printed resin replicas of the American GBU-12 Paveway II laser-guided bomb in 1:48 scale, in the version with a thermal protective coating. It is not an aircraft kit but an aftermarket external stores accessory for an already built model.

The real subject

The GBU-12 Paveway II is an American laser-guided bomb created by fitting the five hundred pound Mark 82 bomb with a Paveway II guidance kit with a laser seeker at the front and folding control surfaces at the rear. It allows accurate strikes on point targets. The thermal protective coating protects the bomb from premature initiation at high temperatures.

Use and building tips

  • Wash the parts to remove uncured print resin residue and separate them from the print supports.
  • Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
  • Sand with respiratory protection, ideally wet.
  • Seat the front seeker and the rear fins accurately; bring out the thermal texture after priming.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building modern combat aircraft in 1:48 scale.
  • Collectors who want accurate guided armament instead of the parts from the box.

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
