An injection-molded plastic kit of the German King Tiger heavy tank in 1:48 scale. The set from Tamiya captures the form with the production turret and offers the typically accurate fit of the parts. The box also contains metal and rubber elements. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The King Tiger, that is the Tiger II, was a German heavy tank committed in the closing stage of the Second World War. It was marked by strongly sloped armor and a long high-velocity gun, thanks to which it could destroy opponents at long range. Its weight, however, reduced its mobility and the reliability of the drivetrain. The production turret replaced the earlier form with a curved front.
Finish the running gear and the lower parts before closing up the hull. A three-color camouflage is typical of late German vehicles; apply it with an airbrush and add weathering with washes and pigments for mud and dust effects. Bring out the wheels and the running gear with a dry brush. The metal and rubber parts make a realistic rendering of the track runs easier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
