An injection-molded plastic kit of the German anti-aircraft tank Flakpanzer V Ausf.A, nicknamed Coelian, in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a newer tooling of this design-stage vehicle built on the chassis of the Panther tank. The box holds plastic parts and, as the manufacturer states, small photo-etched elements as well; the model has a well-worked hull, a turret with a mock-up of the twin armament and detailed running gear.
The Coelian was a German anti-aircraft tank project meant to protect armored units from Allied aircraft in the closing stage of the Second World War. It was based on the proven chassis of the Panther medium tank and carried a rotating turret with twin quick-firing armament. The vehicle stayed at the stage of drawings and mock-ups and never reached series production, which is why it counts among the so-called paper projects of German equipment.
Use liquid cement for plastic. Finish and paint the running gear, the road wheels and the hull tub before closing up the upper parts. Spray the model with a good primer and paint it with an airbrush; for the late war three-color camouflage, masking or freehand spraying both work. Create the weathering with washes in the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
