Parts for the Swedish and Norwegian Gloster Gladiator in 1:48 scale make it possible to build the export renditions of the biplane.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set of parts makes it possible to build the Gloster Gladiator biplane in the form the machines delivered to Sweden and Norway were given. The export examples differed from the British ones in details of equipment and in markings, and it is precisely these differences that the set deals with.
Sweden brought the biplane into service under the designations J 8 and J 8A. The best-known chapter became the service of the volunteer unit F 19, which at the turn of 1939 and 1940 operated from a frozen lake in the north of Finland against the Soviet Air Force. The Norwegian Gladiators had a shorter and more dramatic fate: on the morning of the ninth of April 1940 a handful of machines stood up to the German attack on Oslo, and several aircraft then had to work from improvised strips away from the occupied airfield.
Resin is washed and degreased before gluing, otherwise a film of mold release stays on the surface. Separate the parts with a fine saw and level the mating surfaces on a glass plate. The color schemes of the export machines differ from the British ones in their shades as well, so choose your subject before you start spraying.
The base kit of the biplane has to be obtained separately; it is not in the package.
