This is a resin, 3D-printed detail set of main landing gear wheels for models of the American Grumman Avenger carrier torpedo bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from the box. The tires have a faithfully worked contact patch and a slight bulge where they touch the ground, so a standing model looks as if the weight of the aircraft really rested on the wheels.
The Grumman TBF, designated TBM in licensed production by General Motors, was a rugged carrier torpedo bomber of the US Navy in the Second World War. The stocky fuselage, the roomy bomb bay and the heavy landing gear are characteristic of the type, and weighted wheels make its look on the ramp still more convincing.
Cut the parts off the print supports, sand the marks they leave gently and wash the set free of any mold release residue. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Painting over a primer base is recommended; hubs and tires are easily set apart in shade.
The set contains only the resin wheels, not a whole model. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
