An Eduard add-on package from the LööKplus line in 1:48 scale for the model of the carrier torpedo bomber TBM-3 Avenger.
Responsibility details are not available.
During the Second World War the Avenger was the largest single-engine machine flown from American carrier decks. It carried a crew of three, a dorsal gun turret and its load tucked away in a bomb bay inside the fuselage, so it kept a clean shape even with a torpedo aboard. The designation TBM-3 belongs to a late production version. The tall cockpit and the deep nose make the Avenger a model on which every add-on shows.
The LööKplus line from Eduard gathers the add-ons for one particular model into a single package. This one is made for the TBM-3 Avenger in 1:48 scale. The exact list of parts is stated by the manufacturer, and the instructions enclosed also tell you which part of the kit has to be replaced or modified.
Read all the enclosed instructions through first and plan the order of work; some add-ons go in before the fuselage is glued together for good. Parts that are not polystyrene cannot be bonded with ordinary cement for plastic models: use cyanoacrylate glue, or epoxy on larger mating surfaces. Test the fit dry and level the mating surfaces carefully where needed. Wash and degrease the surface before painting.
The package is aimed at the modeler who wants to take one model all the way and does not want to hunt for the add-ons piece by piece. Count on the work taking more time than building straight from the box, and on tweezers and good light coming in handy. The contents follow the manufacturer's information; the kit, paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
