A set of resin castings of the German Revi 16B reflector gunsight in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand. The package contains six pieces, so it will cover several models or serve as a reserve for a small part that is easily lost. It is not an aircraft model but an accurate cockpit accessory for experienced modelers that replaces the simplified gunsight from a kit with a fine casting with a faithful shape of the body and the reflector glass.
The Revi 16B was the standard reflector gunsight of the late phase of the Second World War and was carried by a range of German aircraft, from the jet-powered Me 262 through the He 162 to the late versions of the Fw 190 and the Bf 109. The sight projected an aiming pattern onto a glass plate and made it easier for the pilot to aim the guns.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue. Separate the small castings carefully from the casting blocks with a sharp knife and clean up the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spray the body in a dark shade and suggest the reflector glass with a glossy transparent layer. Because the parts are so small, work over a tray.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
