The 1:48 Harrier T.2/T.4/T.8 landing gear bay is a resin add-on set in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Aires that replaces the shallow landing gear bay from the kit.

This is not an aircraft model but an internal assembly for its airframe. The set replaces the landing gear bay, that is the space into which the wheels retract in flight. In a kit that space tends to be shallow and empty, because otherwise the mold could not be opened. A resin replacement brings depth, ribbing and pipe runs. The set is listed for the two-seat trainer versions, which differ from the single-seaters in the layout of the fuselage. The manufacturer has many similar sets and they are told apart by the exact set designation and by the version of the aircraft.
An open bay is one of the few places a viewer really looks at from close up, usually to find out whether there is nothing but a hole behind the panel. With the Harrier the case is all the more interesting because its landing gear has an unusual layout, with the wheels on the fuselage centerline and outrigger supports at the wingtips. While the single-seat versions are well represented among accessories, the two-seat trainers are rarer, so a set cut directly for them answers a real shortage.
The bay tends to be cast as one deeper assembly on a massive casting block. Cut the block off with a fine-toothed saw and level the surface on abrasive paper laid on glass, so that it really is flat. Then dry-fit and keep taking material away from the surrounding plastic until the bay seats without pressure. Wash the parts in warm soapy water so that the mold release agent from the mold disappears from the surface. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and on larger areas a gel variant helps, because it leaves time to line things up. Paint and weather the bay before you close it into the airframe, as you will not get inside once it is glued up. Do not breathe in the dust from resin.
The set is a resin accessory, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
