This resin detail set from the Czech maker Aires in 1:48 scale shows the cockpit interior of the British Hawker Hunter jet fighter. It replaces the simplified plastic interior of the base kit with a faithfully made cockpit carrying an instrument panel, side consoles, a seat and a control column. It is an accessory for a kit, not an airplane model.
The Hawker Hunter was a British single-seat jet fighter of the 1950s, valued for its clean aerodynamic shapes and its long service with a number of air forces. Its cockpit is a typical interior of a fighter of the first jet generation.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Fitting the cockpit usually calls for reworking the inner fuselage walls of the base kit by sanding, so that the parts seat precisely. It pays to paint and pick out the interior before closing the fuselage.
