An accessory set of heads of figures in 1:48 scale with the British steel helmet Mk I. It replaces the simplified heads from an ordinary kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The British steel helmet Mk I is a flat helmet with a wide brim around its circumference, which the British army introduced during the First World War and wore in a slightly modified form during the Second World War as well. The units of the Commonwealth countries used it too, so heads with this helmet will find a use with a very wide range of subjects, from the trenches of the Western Front to North Africa and the Europe of the 1940s.
This is an accessory set of heads for figures in 1:48 scale, executed with the British Mk I helmet. The heads are used in place of the simplified parts from an ordinary kit and allow figures to be given a different gaze and angle, which tells on a diorama more than any other intervention. The number of pieces in the set, the material of the parts and the recommended procedure are given in the manufacturer's description and instructions.
In this scale the parts are very small, so work over a surface with a raised edge and use tweezers. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down; the neck usually has to be adapted to the opening in the collar of the figure, so that the head seats with no gap. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Skin looks better when you bring it to life with two shades, while the helmet, by contrast, should be left matte.
The set is an accessory for figures that you build yourself. Paints, glue and thinners are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
