A casting of the FAB-100 bomb, one of the most widespread members of the Soviet line of high-explosive fragmentation aircraft ordnance. The set contains the armament; the kit of the aircraft you provide separately. It suits anywhere a finished model should look ready for action rather than like a clean aircraft with no load.
Ordnance of this category stayed in Soviet and later Russian stores for decades. It was used from the Second World War through the era of jet attack aircraft up to the present, because a simple high-explosive bomb never lost its point. What mostly changed over time was the shape of the fins and the fuze, while the body itself kept a recognizable appearance that makes it easy to identify on a model even without labels.
Spray the washed and dried casting with a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth resin. Soviet ordnance tended to be a single color, so the result comes mainly from subtle shading and discreet accentuation of the seams. Sand the remains of the casting gate flat so that the bomb sits straight on the rack, and glue it with super glue. Dry runs before gluing save a lot of going back.
The bomb comes in a raw state, and the package contains neither paints nor glue.
