Photo-etched HUD combining glasses for postwar Soviet aircraft in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian brand Armory replace the coarse plastic gunsight in the cockpit with a fine metal part.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small photo-etched set in thin metal sheet, the manufacturer's part number peA4802. It replaces the combining glass of the HUD in the cockpit of Soviet and Russian jets in 1:48 scale. It is not a model, nor an armament part for one, but a small upgrade of the cockpit interior.
HUD is the abbreviation for head-up display, in Soviet practice the windshield indicator. It projects flight and aiming data for the pilot onto a transparent plate in front of the windshield, so that he does not have to drop his eyes to the instrument panel. In Soviet equipment this solution came into use only on fourth-generation machines; the older postwar types carried conventional optical gunsights, so compare the shape of the combining glass against your own kit.
Separate the parts from the photo-etched fret with a sharp scalpel over a hard surface, not by twisting, and sand the cut. Bend thin frames in a photo-etch bending tool or between two razor blades, never in your fingers. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue in the smallest possible amount, ideally a gel one, so that it does not wick onto the transparent surface. Degrease the photo-etched part before gluing; neither primer nor paint holds on greasy metal.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
