Rob Taurus supplies separate transparent glazing for the cockpit of Hurricanes in 1:48 scale. The vacuum-formed canopy is thinner and optically cleaner than an ordinary injected part, so you really can see the worked-out interior through it. It comes into its own above all when you want the canopy slid back.
The Hurricane was the first monoplane with retractable landing gear in British fighter service, and in the Battle of Britain more of them took to the air than Spitfires. The fuselage with its tubular truss frame and partial fabric covering was easy to repair, which counted in hard use. Above the pilot sits a sliding canopy with pronounced framing, and ahead of it the windshield with armored glass. That whole assembly is the most vulnerable place on a model as soon as you try to open the cockpit.
Cut the shape out with some margin, then even the edge up by sanding on a flat surface and keep testing the fit on the fuselage. Glue it with a product intended for clear parts or with a minimum of thin cyanoacrylate gel; ordinary liquid cement for polystyrene would fog the surface. Mask the frames off with narrow tape and spray first with the interior shade, and only then with the upper camouflage.
This is a separate replacement part for a kit you already have at home; the aircraft and its plastic parts are not sold with it.
