Hurricane Mk. II - rounded exhausts PRINT 1:48 is a 3D-printed replacement set of exhaust pipes from Eduard. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for a plastic Hurricane kit in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is a detail accessory, not an aircraft kit. It replaces the exhaust pipes from the plastic kit of the Hawker Hurricane Mk. II in 1:48 scale with a set of 3D-printed parts in the version with rounded outlets. The printing technology makes it possible to create genuinely hollow exhaust ends and the fine layering of the metal sheets, which is hard to achieve in injection-molded plastic. Eduard is a Czech manufacturer from Obrnice near Most and builds its PRINT line on exactly this strength.
The Hurricane Mk. II was the development continuation of the first British monoplane fighter with retractable landing gear. Compared with the Mk. I it received the more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin XX engine and, in further subversions, reinforced armament in the wing. With the new engine the shape of the exhausts also changed: alongside the so-called fishtail, rounded outlets appear as well. Which shape your particular machine had is best checked against a period photograph, as both versions occur on the Mk. II.
Carefully separate the parts from the print supports with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw, level the surfaces with a sanding file and degrease them before gluing. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, because cement for plastic does not act on printed resin. Work wet when sanding and protect your breathing. Before painting we recommend a primer base; a dark metallic shade complemented by rust and soot pigments then works well on exhausts.
