An add-on cockpit set for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109F-2 and F-4 in 1:32 scale. It replaces the cockpit from the kit with a more faithful rendering.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 in the F version, known by the nickname Friedrich, was the aerodynamically cleaned-up stage in the development of the aircraft: it received rounded wingtips, a smoother engine cowling, and the tailplane struts disappeared. It was powered by the Daimler-Benz DB 601 inverted V12 engine. The F-2 and F-4 versions are given together in the name, so the set is intended for both.
Replacement cockpit parts for a model in 1:32 scale. The set serves to complete a kit, and you cannot build a standalone model from it. The exact parts list and the kit the set is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions and on the box.
A replacement cockpit tends to be fuller than the part from the kit, so dry-fit everything first and only then glue it, and reckon with thinning the fuselage walls from the inside if necessary. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts: ordinary cement for plastic models holds only on polystyrene, so use super glue on other materials. Cut the excess material and the production marks off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will take poorly. In 1:32 scale the cockpit is clearly visible once the canopy is closed, so a wash into the recesses and picking out the edges with a dry brush are worth the effort.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
