1:48 Il-2 CS LX-17 is a masking set from the Omask brand for building a model of the Ilyushin Il-2 attack aircraft in Czechoslovak markings, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a masking set, not a kit. The set is intended for a model of the Ilyushin Il-2 attack aircraft in 1:48 scale and is tied to a particular machine with a Czechoslovak code. The masks are pre-cut into a self-adhesive carrier and during spraying they cover the areas that are to stay free of paint. Because they are cut to the shapes of a particular kit, check beforehand that they match the model you are building.
The Ilyushin Il-2 was a Soviet single-engine attack aircraft intended for striking ground targets. Its characteristic feature was the armored hull, which formed the load-bearing part of the forward fuselage and protected the pilot, the engine and the radiators. It was produced in single-seat and two-seat forms and is among the most numerously built aircraft of its day. Machines of this type also flew after the war with the Czechoslovak Air Force, where they carried their own codes, and one of them is the subject of this set.
Degrease the area before sticking the masks on and let the base cure. Lift the mask off with tweezers, lay it on dry and press the edge down with a toothpick. Spray in thin coats perpendicular to the surface and take the mask off shortly after the paint has set. With codes and insignia it pays to spray the area with the color of the base first, so that any leak at the edge is sealed. Give the area a gloss clear coat before applying decals and a wash.
The package contains only the masks. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
