A resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale for replacing the cockpit of a plastic kit of the Japanese J2M3 Raiden fighter. The set brings a faithful rendering of the pilot area including the instrument panel, side consoles, floor and seat. It is not an airplane model, but an aftermarket accessory for more experienced modelers.
The J2M Raiden was a single-engine fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service from the Second World War, designed as an interceptor with the emphasis on rate of climb and speed. The J2M3 version carried heavier gun armament.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, separate the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint and assemble the interior before closing up the fuselage. Gentle shading and dry brushing work well to bring out the detail.
This is a resin accessory. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
