A masking set for the national insignia and markings of the J8M Shusui in 1:48 scale. The large solid disc of the insignia is sprayed instead of being applied as a decal.

Dead Design templates for spraying the national insignia and additional markings of the Japanese J8M Shusui fighter in 1:48 scale. The set does not deal with the canopy glazing; it is strictly about the markings on the airframe.
The Mitsubishi J8M Shusui was a rocket interceptor of the Imperial Japanese Navy developed at the end of the Second World War. It was a tailless machine with a very short powered flight time that never reached series service. It suits 1:48 scale precisely because its small, clean airframe lets the markings stand out a great deal.
The Japanese national insignia is a solid single-color disc, and that is the most awkward shape of all for a decal. A large continuous area of carrier film adapts badly to curvature, after drying it shines on a matte finish, and with the slightest inaccuracy a round shape is immediately noticeable. A sprayed insignia has none of those drawbacks, because it is pure paint with no base layer. Spray in thin coats perpendicular to the surface; with a deep red, reckon with full coverage arriving only after several passes. Take the template off right after it is dry to the touch.
