An aftermarket accessory of photo-etched metal meant for the plastic kit of the heavy tank destroyer from the brand Tamiya. The set is sold separately and does not hold a kit. It is made by the Czech brand Hauler.
The Jagdtiger was a German heavy tank destroyer of the end of the Second World War, built on the lengthened chassis of a heavy tank and armed with a large-caliber gun in a fully enclosed superstructure. It was the heaviest series-produced combat vehicle of its day. Its great weight took away mobility and reliability, the numbers built were low and its use was limited. For a modeler it is a striking vehicle with large smooth surfaces, on which precisely the thin items such as the fenders, covers and grilles stand out.
Larger photo-etched sets pay off when built in stages. Leave the parts on the fret and cut them off only at the moment you use them, or they are easily lost. Bend long parts such as fenders in a bender along their whole length at once, never in sections, or a wavy edge will appear. If you want to suggest damage, bend the fender deliberately off the line and nick the edge lightly; unlike plastic, metal takes that without cracking. Degrease and prime the metal before painting. You will appreciate the large areas of the superstructure if, after the base color, you lighten them in the middle of the panels and darken the edges instead, because a model then does not look flat.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, which is not included in the package. It is supplied unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
