The L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer built by Aero Vodochody. Its seats are arranged one behind the other, with the instructor's rear seat raised so that he has a view forward over the student's head. The L-39C form is the basic training version from which the further modifications were derived. The machine spread to dozens of countries, flew with a number of air forces and can still be met in civilian hands and at air shows today, so the choice of interesting color schemes is wide.
This is an accessory for an L-39C kit in 1:48 scale to which the manufacturer adds masking templates for painting. The accessory parts refine the shape where the main assembly falls short, while the templates make sharp transitions between shades and the covering of the glazing easier. The extent of the parts, the list of templates and the order of fitting are given in the instructions enclosed with the set.
Put the accessory parts in before you close the assembly up, and always dry-fit them first. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Wash and degrease the whole model before painting. Stick the templates onto a clean, dry surface before spraying and press the edges down well with a fingernail or a toothpick, so that paint does not run underneath. Spray in thin coats and remove the template as soon as the paint is dry to the touch; after a longer time it comes off less easily and may tear the edge of the finish.
An accessory set with templates is supplied. The aircraft model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
