Aero L-40 Meta Sokol 1:48: an injection-molded plastic kit of a Czechoslovak light aircraft from the Czech manufacturer Kovozavody Prostejov.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Czechoslovak light sport and touring aircraft L-40 Meta Sokol in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Kovozavody Prostejov. It is a new mold. Both the real subject and the manufacturer are Czech, so the model will please anyone fond of home aviation history.
The L-40 Meta Sokol was the first Czechoslovak all-metal touring aircraft, dating from the end of the 1950s, the successor to the earlier Sokol. It was a single-engine low-wing monoplane with four seats and an unusual reversed tricycle landing gear, thanks to which it stood almost level on the ground. It was powered by a Walter engine (the Minor, later the M-332). It was built by the Orlican works, and more than half of the production went for export.
Glue with liquid cement for plastic, smooth the mold seams with filler and sand them flat. Mask the cabin glazing before painting. Light civil finishes are best laid down with an airbrush over a primer; a fine panel wash will bring out the engraving. Watch out for the fragile landing gear parts and struts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
