A set of photo-etched metal parts for a model of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc aircraft in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-engined fighter and, together with the Spitfire, the mainstay of the defense of Britain. The Mk.IIc version differs from the earlier machines in its armament: instead of a larger number of machine guns it carried four 20 mm cannons in the wings. Throughout its service the Hurricane kept its rear fuselage built from a frame covered in fabric, which on a model shows in the gently curved surface between the reinforcing ribs.
Etched metal sheet makes it possible to produce parts at a thickness that cannot be achieved with injection-molded plastic. In 1:72 scale that shows most on the small flat parts, which come out disproportionately thick in plastic. The extent of the set and the location of the individual parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remains of the holder. Make the fold along the etched groove, best of all in a bender or between two blades. It is glued with super glue applied with the tip of a pin, because cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Before painting, wash and degrease the sheet and coat it with a base paint, otherwise the finish cracks and peels easily on the smooth surface.
For modelers for whom the basic kit is not enough and who want to improve the detail even in a small scale. The work calls for tweezers, a sharp blade and a steady hand. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
