Sets from the LööK range solve the most conspicuous spot in the cockpit, the instrument panel. Instead of stacking several layers of photo-etch you get a finished resin part with a color print that is simply seated in the model. The dials and captions are printed directly on the surface, so there is no painting of the panel and no gluing in of individual dial faces. The set is an accessory for a plastic model of the Avro Lancaster B Mk. I in 1:48 scale; the kit itself, glue and paints are not in the box. The Avro Lancaster B Mk. I was a British four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War powered by Rolls-Royce Merlin engines. It was marked by a long undivided bomb bay, twin fins and a large crew. It is precisely the glazed nose and the roomy cockpit that make the interior a prominent feature of a model: once finished, more of it is visible than a modeler usually expects.
Wash the resin part in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw and level the surface by wet sanding with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue, because cement for plastic has no effect here. Do not spray over the printed surface and do not sand it: the print is the final finish. The instrument glasses keep their gloss if you flatten only the area around the panel at the end. Always dry-fit the panel before you glue the fuselage together.
The set is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit in its own right. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
