An injection-molded plastic model of the American supersonic aircraft Lockheed F-104C Starfighter in 1:48 scale. This release covers a machine of a tactical fighter wing deployed during the Vietnam War. The package contains plastic parts, a clear canopy and a decal sheet; you build one aircraft. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The F-104 Starfighter was famous for its extremely thin wing of short span and its slender fuselage — it was nicknamed the missile with a man in it. The F-104C variant was intended for the US Air Force as a tactical fighter-bomber able to carry bombs and external stores, with an attainable speed of around Mach 2. In its day it was among the fastest and highest-flying production fighters.
Use liquid cement for plastic on the joints. Keep the sharp leading edges of the wing thin and precise — they are typical of the Starfighter silhouette. Mask the canopy and the clear parts and glue them on only after the interior has been sprayed. Silver and metallic surfaces come out well on a smooth, well-sanded base; lay them down at the end so that masking does not damage them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
