A photo-etched metal add-on for a model of the F-16C Block 25 in 1:48 scale. Thin metal parts refine the places where injection-molded plastic inevitably carries a greater thickness.

The set belongs among photo-etched metal accessories and is listed for a model of the F-16C Block 25 in 1:48 scale. Photo-etched metal differs from plastic in one property, but an essential one: it can be really thin. A shape that looks merely hinted at on an injection-molded part is genuinely thin on photo-etch.
The difference is easiest to picture on an edge. A plastic cover has a visible wall thickness, whereas an etched one has an edge as thin as sheet metal and therefore disappears when seen from the side. The same goes for grilles, which on plastic are only engraved, and for small faces and placards with a crisp outline. In 1:48 scale details like these are within the viewer's reach and worth the extra work.
The F-16 was originally designed as a lightweight day fighter and only gradually became the multirole machine that air forces know today. The C version is single-seat, the D two-seat. Block 25 designates the production block with which the C series began and which received a newer airborne radar.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
