This item is a smaller pre-painted photo-etched set of the Zoom line from the Czech firm Eduard for a model of the F-35A in 1:48 scale. Zoom is a narrower selection from the full photo-etched set and its parts come already printed in color, so they are fitted quickly and without laborious painting of tiny details. It is an approachable choice for modelers who want to raise the level of a model visibly without a large investment of time.
It is not an aircraft model but an add-on to one. The basic plastic kit has to be obtained separately.
The F-35A Lightning II is a single-seat single-engine fifth-generation aircraft in the configuration for conventional takeoff and landing from a paved runway. It differs from the other two versions of the family in having neither a lift fan nor the equipment for carrier operation. The design is carried out with the emphasis on a small radar signature, which is reflected in the shaping of the cockpit, the air intakes and the internal weapons bays.
Do not clean the pre-painted parts with aggressive solvents, the print would be damaged. Separate them with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and touch the edges up with paint after cutting. Make the bends slowly, ideally in a bending jig. Glue with super glue in a minimal dose so that it does not wick onto the visible side. On a model with smooth surfaces it pays to work with tweezers with polished jaws, so that no fingerprints or scratches are left on the metal.
This is an accessory set, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
