This is a resin detail set from the Eduard Brassin range in 1:48 scale. It contains landing gear wheels for models of the Soviet MiG-21PFM jet fighter. It is not a standalone aircraft kit but an accessory with which you replace the plastic wheels from the box with more faithful castings. The set includes main wheels with the correct tread, separately rendered brake drums and hubs for easier painting, a nose wheel and an additional photo-etched part and a masking template.
The wheels are an exposed detail on a model. Resin castings with separate hubs and drums make clean painting considerably easier and offer a crisper tread than injection-molded plastic allows. The set is intended for MiG-21PFM models in 1:48 scale.
First wash the resin parts in warm water with detergent to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the wheels with cyanoacrylate, and the photo-etched features as well. Use the enclosed mask for a clean transition between the tire and the hub.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
