A set of 3D decals from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit and not an interior set but a finishing add-on for the surface: very thin decals with raised rivets and fine skin detail that give the model of the twin-boom Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter a realistic external surface texture.
The real Lightning had raised rivets on its skin, which are hard to imitate on plastic by engraving. This set transfers them as a 3D decal straight onto the surface of the model, so you avoid the laborious punching of rivets. The set covers the P-38F, P-38G and P-38H versions.
The decals are applied once the surface is painted, by the classic transfer from water onto a gloss or semi-gloss base; they are settled with a decal softener, and once dry a light matte coat is recommended to unify the finish. The work calls for patience and accuracy when matching the individual panels.
This is a surface add-on, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
