The set contains finely made 3D-printed, or rather resin, landing gear parts for models of the American high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft U-2R and its TR-1A/B versions in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory, not a standalone kit.
The Lockheed U-2 is a single-seat high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft with long sailplane wings and an unusual landing gear arranged in tandem, supplemented by jettisonable outrigger wheels under the wings. A faithfully made landing gear therefore lifts the sense of scale on the model considerably.
Wash the parts, separate them from the print supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. The thin printed parts are fragile, so work carefully. Apply a primer before painting and pick out the metal surfaces with a metal paint. Do the sanding with respiratory protection.
The set is an accessory, not a standalone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
