The real subject

The figure keeps to a working role rather than to parade dress, so overalls and tools belong to him rather than a uniform of walking-out cut. Building and painting tips

• Wash and degrease the figure before painting, because on a greasy surface the paint cracks and flakes off.
• Proceed from the base shade to the shadows and only at the end to the highlights, because small areas are hard to repaint.
• Leave the face and the hands for the end; the flesh shade is set more precisely on a finished remainder.
• Overalls suit a darker transition in the folds and fine stains from service, because a mechanic at a machine is rarely clean.
• Paint separately from the model and attach the figure only at the end, otherwise it is harder to get into the shadows with a brush.

For the modeler who does not want to leave a model standing empty on a base, but to put it into a scene with ground crew. It is suitable for a diorama with a flight line and as a standalone accessory beside a finished aircraft.
