A resin detail set from Eduard in 1:48 scale, BRASSIN range. It is not a kit but a set of American M 117 aircraft bombs in their early form, intended for realistically adding armament to an aircraft model. The castings capture the body of the bomb with the early tail unit and usually come with variants of the fuzes and decal lettering.
The M 117 is an American general-purpose aircraft bomb of a nominal weight of around 750 pounds, with roots going back to the 1950s. It stayed in service for a long time and was carried by a whole range of combat aircraft; the early version differs from the later one in the shape and design of the tail surfaces. The bomb was hung on the outer racks of attack and multi-role machines.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, separate the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the resin with super glue. Pick the matching fuze variant as required; the body of the bomb is sprayed in an even shade, the markings are taken care of by the enclosed decals and the detail is brought out with a dark wash.
This is an armament accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
