A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Hauler that replaces the coarse plastic grilles over the engine deck of the American M26 Pershing tank in 1:48 scale with fine pierced metal parts. It is an aftermarket accessory for the build, not a model in its own right. The set is designed for the Tamiya kit.
The M26 Pershing was an American tank from the end of the Second World War with a 90 mm gun. The grilles over the engine at the rear of the hull are a visually prominent detail which comes out thick and flat in plastic, so replacing them with photo-etch lifts the realism markedly.
The original plastic grilles are carefully cut away and replaced with the photo-etched parts. These are separated with a sharp knife and glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the parts before varnishing and spray them with a primer; the fine perforation of the grille comes out nicely once a dark wash is applied.
This is a detail accessory. The base model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
