A self-adhesive die-cut masking set for building the A-3 Skywarrior in 1:48 scale at the EXPERT level, that is in the widest coverage the manufacturer offers for this subject. The Skywarrior was a large twin-engine carrier-based bomber, so the model too has respectable dimensions and correspondingly busy glazing over the cockpit. That is exactly where a masking set pays off most: the larger the model, the more conspicuous every inaccuracy in the frames.
On large models spraying is often done in several stages and the model is handled between the individual passes. The mask therefore has to hold for a longer time and must not lift at the edges. Thorough degreasing and honest smoothing of the edges will help. Hold the model by parts that are not masked while spraying, or prepare a simple stand, so that the film is not rubbed by your hand.
Apply the paint thinned, in thin coats and with the movement going from the masked area outward, not toward the edge of the film. Once it has dried, lift a corner with a needle and peel slowly, back at a shallow angle. If the paint does lift at the edge after all, touch it in with a fine brush while the finish is still fresh. Do not throw away the leftover areas of the sheet; they will serve as masking material for small details.
