1:48 Mask Bf 109 G-6 EXPERT (TAM 61117)

New Ware 1:48 Mask Bf 109 G-6 EXPERT

Pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the model of the Bf 109 G-6 in 1:48 scale in the EXPERT version, that is in the widest extent this range offers for the given subject. Compared with the basic BASIC level it covers more masked surfaces. The package holds no parts for the model, only masks on a backing sheet.

What masking actually solves

Cockpit glazing cannot be painted over reliably with a brush — a frame drawn freehand has an uneven width and a different surface texture from the rest of the airframe. A mask divides the clear part and the frame exactly as the molding has it, so that once sprayed the frame has the same shade, sheen and grain as the whole model, and the glass stays transparent.

Applying and removing step by step

• First wash the transparent parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let them dry in the air.
• Apply the masks in order from the largest surfaces to the narrowest strips, so that the smaller pieces do not overlap.
• Press the corners and curves down with a wooden stick or a skewer; your fingers will not reliably reach the edge of a mask.
• Before the color, lay down a thin covering coat in the interior shade, so that any creep does not show.
• Get under the mask with the tip of a scalpel and draw it off at an angle across the edge, not straight up.

Who the EXPERT version is for

For modelers who want to get the masking done with one set and not buy anything else to go with it, and for builds where a model is to be taken all the way even in the details that ordinary masking usually leaves out.

The package contains masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
