New Ware masking set Ju-88C-6b BASIC (1:48)

This is not a kit but a set of self-adhesive masks from New Ware for plastic models of the Junkers Ju 88C-6b heavy fighter in 1:48 scale. The masks are machine cut (die-cut) with precision from kabuki paper, which holds well and comes off after spraying with no adhesive residue. The BASIC level covers masking of all the glazed parts of the cockpit, the landing gear wheels and auxiliary masks for camouflage details.

The real subject

The Junkers Ju 88C-6 was a heavy fighter and night fighter derivative of the Ju 88 bomber with a solid (unglazed) metal nose in which the fixed gun armament was concentrated. The cockpit with its divided frames still calls for careful masking, which this set makes a great deal simpler.
