The highest step of the mask range from the manufacturer New Ware in 1:48 scale. The set holds machine-cut self-adhesive masks shaped to the parts of the particular Hobby Boss 81713 kit. The EXPERT designation means the widest reach within the range, that is coverage of a greater number of parts than in the basic and the middle step.
A two-seat heavy machine in 1:48 scale is a large model with a long tandem canopy, sizeable areas and a number of places where different shades meet. The more of the masking that can be bought ready-made, the smaller the risk that a lack of symmetry or a transition that is not crisp will appear somewhere. A more comprehensive set also shortens the overall finishing time, because repeated measuring and transferring of shapes onto tape is done away with.
Leave the masks on the original backing until you use them — it protects the adhesive layer from dust. Store an opened sheet flat in an envelope or between two sheets of paper, not rolled up in the model box; a bent sheet peels badly and the masks break. Room temperature and dry conditions are ideal, as heat and damp spoil the adhesive over time. Before applying them, photograph or trace the sheet roughly, so that you know where each piece belongs once the sheets are half empty.
